Greetings from the end of my maternity leave. It’s Greetings from the end of my maternity leave. It’s been all sorts of magical and all sorts of challenging, but most of all incredibly full of love for this tiny new human that has completed our family. It went by so fast and I’ve still got a baby who loves to see my face every 1-2 hours all night every night, so this is going to be a slow transition back to working full time.

For now, I’ve got a handful of cozy February sessions on the horizon. I probably won’t take on any more for February but could manage a few more in March if you want to get on the schedule!

If you’ve been following along in my stories, you’ve seen that I am moving into a brand new studio space in Leominster! I am so incredibly excited about this big step for my business, especially because studio sessions will no longer be limited to just newborns/ babies, but will be available for family sessions as well. I’ll have more photos of the space after my first few sessions there (first one is this Thursday!) but for now, you can check out some sneak peeks in my Highlights.

I’m so excited to get back to photographing your lovely faces!
In-home newborn sessions— just bring your love and In-home newborn sessions— just bring your love and affection. Your baby can be awake, asleep, fussy, happy— it doesn’t matter as long as you let your love shine through. This little guy went through all the above moods, and honestly that is so perfect, because it gives you a chance to truly interact as you do in your every day life.

It’s been the most wonderful year photographing so many amazing clients, and I’m incredibly grateful for everyone’s kindness and patience as I started to run out of steam on editing turnaround times near the end here. You are all so appreciated! Can’t believe how lucky I am that this is my job and I get to connect with the sweetest families.

My maternity leave will be officially starting whenever this baby decides to arrive, and I’ll be back in action in mid-late January. If you want to schedule a winter in-home family session or a newborn session, please feel free to reach out any time! I will still be checking emails regularly, though response times may be anywhere up to three days so I can make sure to focus on bonding time with my newest addition.

Activity-based sessions are the perfect way to not Activity-based sessions are the perfect way to not only keep kids engaged throughout the session, but to also make it easy to capture a huge variety of candid moments. Especially if you are someone who feels uncomfortable in front of the camera, having an activity to focus on gives you something to do so you don’t have to wonder where to put your hands, where to look etc. Just absorb yourself in the moments that are happening and the photos will reflect the magic!

Some activity ideas for your session:
Picnic
Apple picking
Playing in the sprinkler
Musical instruments
Tea party
Redecorating a room at home
Scooters/bikes around the neighborhood
Flying a kite
Family painting project
Bubble bath
Swimming
Ice cream outing
On this last day of September, I need to know— do On this last day of September, I need to know— do we agree what a perfect month this has been? Save for a couple gloomy days, it’s been a ‘windows open all day every day’ sort of month, which is such a treat in New England. I’m soaking in the fresh air as long as I can before the cold weather arrives!
