Time for some full on honest talk here. I’ve spent every year for the past decade with my business growing and growing and growing. But this year— no. I’m not smashing last year’s numbers, I’m not seeing quite as many inquiries as usual. One notable difference? At the beginning of this year I made a choice to post less on Instagram. Spending less time on this app has tremendously helped with my mental health and ability to focus on my family— and these are the things that matter most. So it’s frustrating to see that it has affected my business. I’m going to make an effort moving forward to post slightly more while still maintaining a bit of separation from it. I thought this was important to write about because Instagram is full of highlights and showing off and talking about your successes. But real people in real life have struggles mixed in with their successes, and I’m sure someone reading this is facing similar feelings and needs to see they aren’t alone.
