The other day, my son lost a tooth. The next morni

The other day, my son lost a tooth. The next morning, he came downstairs and mentioned the tooth fairy didn’t come. Cue my parent heart sinking and telling me what a terrible parent I am to have forgotten this!! He went off to school and I went off to our local Buy Nothing FB group, asking for a foreign coin to put under his pillow that night so it would seem like the tooth fairy was just held up abroad. Our community CAME THROUGH and we ended up with coins from all over, everything from France to Kenya to Norway and more. The next day, my son was so excited to find all these coins and think about kids losing teeth in all parts of the world. So the magic of the tooth fairy continues! Sometimes I feel trapped living in a tiny town, but most of the time I’m really grateful for the strong sense of community. And for the regular reminders that despite the state of the world, there is still some good to be found in it.

My husband and I snuck away for a couple days just the two of us. Sometimes it’s hard to remember that you are anything other than a parent, but it feels so good to also prioritize your marriage.

I just filled out all the paperwork for my youngest to go to kindergarten in the September. She’s only in pre-K two days a week right now so my soul is hurting at the thought of not having our regular daytime adventures. We’re running out of time! It really is true that they grow up in the blink of an eye, so hold your littles close and don’t wish the time away 🥺

This time last year, I was on top of a mountain in Costa Rica accessible only by off-road vehicle, at sunset, photographing the sweetest family while their favorite music played and their daughter told them “dance like you’re getting married!” It was just as dreamy as it sounds. More travel sessions in 2024/2025 please!!! Tell me your idea and I would love to work with you to make it happen. Domestic or international, let’s make some magic!
