This session from last spring catches my eye over and over again, so I figured it was time to get it on the blog! Family photography is especially fun when the family lets loose and has fun too– those candid moments are so raw and tend to capture so much more than overly posed portraits. Generally when I’m photographing a family, I do set everyone up in a loose pose that I know will make for a pleasing composition, and then I encourage everyone to interact with each other. This way people don’t feel like they have no idea what they’re doing, but it still makes for great candid moments.
These photos were done at Stevens-Coolidge Place in North Andover, MA– somewhere I’ve been going ever since I was a child. It’s a magical little spot and I’ve really enjoyed returning there as a photographer!
